What is GoldenCents.com?
GoldenCents.com is a penny auction site that specializes in precious metals, rare coins and bullion. In order to join in on the fun you need to register and then purchase bids. Each bid costs $1 but there are bonus bids attached to each bid package and the more bids you buy the more bonus bids you will get. Next peruse the site and plot out your plan of attack! You can either place a single bid or set up the Auto-bid feature which will place bids for you. Each time someone places a bid the price of the item goes up by one cent. If you are the last bidder when the time runs out then you have just won the auction!

Don’t worry, it’s supposed to do that! It allows time for other bidders to get in on the action, similar to a live auction when they announce “going once, going twice…sold”!
“I didn’t win the auction but I really want that item!’
No problem! If you don’t win the auction you can still purchase the item you were bidding on at the retail price. If you look in the bottom right hand corner of the page of the item you were bidding on under the Auto Bid section you will see a box with three prices. The “Retail Value”, “Bids Rebate” and “Your Price.” That means however many bids you placed on the item will then be put towards the retail price of the item to ensure that you are getting the best deal possible! All bids used for BUY IT NOW purposes will now be valued at 68 cents per bid. We are aware that this is cheaper than what you paid for your bids but here at GoldenCents.com we don't have "VOUCHER BIDS" or "PROMO BIDS" like other entertainment shopping sites that offer a BUY IT NOW option. All bids that are purchased, won in BID PACK auctions, converted from item wins, and given as bonuses can be used toward the BUY IT NOW price of an item.
Can I return an item that I won?
If you receive your item and decide that you no longer want it, e-mail us at info@goldencents.comwith your name and reason for return. We will accept returns as long as the item is returned to us in its original packaging with an unbroken seal. Upon receiving the returned items we will issue you a refund of the final auction price and any shipping costs (if applicable).
When will my item ship?
Once we receive your payment through Paypal, your item will ship 2-3 business days later. Our designated shipping days are Tuesday and Friday of each week. If you used the E-Check feature through Paypal it will take 3-5 business days, due to the increase in processing time. We will notify you by e-mail when your item has shipped and include a tracking number for your convenience.
How much does shipping cost?
$2.25 per item will go towards paying for shipping, handling, and nice packaging. The only exception to this rule is the Mystery Gifts that come with Bid Packs sometimes, those will only be $1 per item. All your wins will be shipped twice per week (usually on Tuesday and Friday).
Where can I see the Auto-bids that I have set up?
Go to the My Account homepage and click on the "Bidbutler" link at the top of the page. Here you will see your active Auto-bids as well as detailed information about each one, such as the name of the item, the date you created it, the start price you chose, the amount of bids that will be used and the current amount of bids remaining. It also shows which strategy type you chose, either Bid Randomly or Bid Randomly in Final 10 Seconds. On the far right you will see two links, "Stop" and "Remove." Here you can stop your Auto-bid and then restart it later if you would like or you can remove the Auto-bid completely.
I've registered but I haven't received the confirmation e-mail yet, what should I do?
First thing you should do is check your spam folder and make sure that our e-mail was not accidentally flagged as spam. If that is the case, you need to add info@goldencents.com to your trusted e-mail list. If our e-mail was not flagged as spam and you still have not received it after a sufficient amount of waiting time then feel free to give us a call at (310) 393-6577 and we will investigate and most assuredly be able to resolve any problems.
Someone else in my family wants to bid. How many accounts are allowed per household?
You are allowed two accounts per household. But only one account can bid per item. We monitor IP addresses bidding on the site, so if you win an item using two different accounts it will be deemed cheating and your bids will be forfeited and your winning payment will be refunded.
What are the values of each bid pack mystery gift?
There are 5 different levels when it comes to the mystery gifts in the bid pack auctions. They range in value from $1.00 to $50.00.
Level 1- $1-$3
Level 2- $4-$8
Level 3- $9-$15
Level 4- $16-$25
Level 5- $26-$50
How do I convert my prize into bids?
If you win an auction but decide that you do not want to claim your prize, you can convert it into bids. Simply go to the My Account page and click on auctions I won. Next, click "Get Prize" next to that auction and you will see a button on the bottom of the page that says Convert. Click that and your prize will be automatically converted into bids and added to your account. Before you click Convert, at the top of the page you will be able to see how many bids you will receive if you do convert your prize.
Are there any win limits?
Win Limits will be enforced in a rolling 7 day fashion. Meaning that once you are exactly 7 days beyond a win it will no longer be counted towards your win limit. New win limits will be:
4 WINS per 7 days for items with a Retail Price of $150 or more (Gold Auctions)
7 WINS per 7 days for items with a Retail Price of $41 - $149.99 (Platinum Auctions)
8 WINS per 7 days for items with a Retail Price of $0 - $40.99 (Silver Auctions)
